Travel issues
The risk of Ebola spreading to Ethiopia is not considered a high risk, but the Globelics Secretariat will of course inform you if the situation changes and if this has implications for the conference.

Ethiopian Airlines are inviting all delegates to make travel arrangements with a discount to the 12th Globelics International Conference in Addis Ababa.

Participants from most nationalities will need to apply for visa for Ethiopia in advance. Before coming to Ethiopia, please check requirements for visa application as they may differ from country to country, and rules and procedures for visas can change. It is recommended to contact the Ethiopian embassy or consulate responsible for issuing visas for citizens of your country to obtain your visa.

Obtaining the required visa, including transit visa when needed, is your own responsibility and should be done well in advance of the conference.

Upon confirmation of registration for the conference you can request a letter of invitation to support your visa application. Please send your full name and passport number plus request for the invitation letter to local coordinator Mr. Aklilu Dessalegn ( latest 26th September 2014.

Participants from countries without an Ethiopian Embassy should contact the local coordinator Mr. Aklilu Dessalegn ( to be registered on a special list for getting visa upon arrival. The last date for applying is 26th September 2014. Full name as in passport, passport number and copy of passport should be included.
